Warm, earthy colors accented with bright hues of blue, yellow and teal are on the rise in this new year. It is hard to warm a kitchen color scheme up when a cold stainless steel kitchen appliance steals away the warmth. So, kitchen appliance manufactures have dialed up the heat on white kitchen appliances this year. Many of the major appliance brands like SubZero, Monogram, Samsung, Miele, Thermador and Viking Ranges. For Viking Appliances to be suggesting these newer white kitchen appliance trends…that’s a BIG DEAL.
White Kitchen Appliances
Now you would expect Whirlpool and GE to have a collection called “White Ice appliances”. But professional grades like Viking,
La Cornue, Monogram, Miele &
Bertazzoni featuring an assortment of colors for their standalone ranges and refrigeration appliances. As you can see from the color palette above, these brighter and softer white colors combine well with many of the earthy tone we are being asked to incorporate into our designs. Here is

White and Gold Kitchen Appliances
Customization is definitely a trend in kitchen appliances. For those more brazen, Zline Kitchen Appliances has an
Autograph Series that combines gold or bronze hardware with their white gas range, dishwashers and / or refrigerators.
GE’s Café Collection allows homeowners to combine a
Matte White kitchen appliance with custom hardware and knobs too. The brushed metal enhancements come in Brushed Bronze, Copper and Stainless steel and it looks phenomenal.
Thermador and SubZero are clearly the front runners in high end kitchen appliances.
The are sticking with stainless steel but many models today are what is called, “panel ready”. What that means is that there are magnetic panels that can be purchased separately that are customized for their products. Or you can get us to design custom panels that have the same look and feel of your cabinets. We just use thinner panels of wood and direct our custom cabinet makers on the finishing. Our installers apply these panels to appliances all the time.
Panel-ready appliances are often shallower than their stand-alone counterparts, so they sit flush with surrounding cabinets. Each appliance manufacturer will provide us the exact dimensions required.
As your design team, we work with you and your inspirations. Talk to us about the colors you see in your minds eye. Is there are particular kitchen appliance that you discovered in a neigbor’s home? You heard about from a co-worker? We are very good at asking you the right questions about your dream home. This kitchen we designed with
shaker style kitchen cabinets started with a blue kitchen island one of our customers saw in a blog just like this one. It all starts with that first conversation. So give us a call and let’s talk colors!
