Yes, Of Course we design more than kitchens and bathrooms! Tobias Design is know best for the kitchens we have designed primarily because of the majority of our client relationships have started off with a custom kitchen design project and you all know how you have spread the news once you had your first dinner party. But many of our clients invite us to “Take a Look” at another room in the house after the kitchen gets done. So we have designed family living rooms, master bedrooms, new additions and in this case, an entertainment room that our client wanted to transform into a “Top Shelf”

Custom Home Bar Design With Class

There is a patio and inground swimming pool that has been getting plenty of action when the kids were younger. As this family grew, the adults were looking for a new place to entertain family and friends. Our clients had a growing collection of fine wines and a taste for single malt scotch that they wished to share with others. And they wanted to do it right. So we came up with a few home bar design ideas that would make good use of this entertainment space, allow the client to display their favorite red wines, keep the whites a consistent 47 degrees and have enough seating room for six adults.

Home Bar Cabinetry and Wine Racks With Appeal

Showing off the red wine collection was a focus we had to stay true too. We selected and arrangement of peg wine rack from Stacks Premier collection that supported 32 bottles between two vertical storage systems that was constructed with exotic burled wood and accentuated by gold anodized aluminum hardware. W illuminated the outer perimeter of each rack with soft yellow LED strips to help accentuate the gold. We used an Alder wood finish for the bar cabinetry under the countertop and elected an open shelving look to display the top shelf spirits the client wanted to show off. 

Wet Bar Hardware and Wine Coolers

Plumbing needed to be added to the mix to accommodate with the wet bar sink & drainage for the refrigeration units, so we had planning to do for what we call “The Bones Work”. Electrical and plumbing is all part of our design work and home bar plans we develop. As you can see from this back bar view, we designed and had installed two 18” wine coolers, one 18” freezer for ice and ice cream storage and the stainless steel sink basin required a paneled door double door cabinetry for the plumbing and cleaning supplies. The faucet is from the Brizo Litze collection in matte black where we selected a Luxe Gold Knurled handle.

On the opposing side you will find an 18 inch dishwasher we sourced for the project so that after party cleanup is a breeze. Our contractors don’t promote themselves as custom home bar builders but they did a wonderful job following our plans to the letter and made a few very good suggestions to improve upon our home bar designs.

Custom Home Bar Countertops & Lighting

The client insisted upon the quartz countertops because they had seen a neighbor’s home bar and loved the color and design style. We were involved with the lighting selection and discovered this Vintage Nautical Pendant from Restoration Hardware in black enamel/ polished brass that really brings the whole package together.
